Record number of applications received for Kazakhstan competition "New Music Generation 2021"
The III International Competition of Composers "New Music Generation 2021" has collected a record number of applications, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Kazakh National University of Arts.
The competition has been held since 2019 in Nur-Sultan and has become one of the largest events in the world of culture and composition school in Kazakhstan. This year it is held within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that the number of presented scores and countries is increasing annually. This year the organizers received 213 scores from 35 countries of the world, such as Austria, Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Great Britain, Greece, Israel, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon , Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Romania, USA, Serbia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan.
The peculiarity of the competition is anonymity - all participants submit their scores not under their surname, but under a personal motto-password, which ensures impartiality and objectivity when considering the works. Only after the jury has summed up the voting results, the personal data of the laureates are disclosed.
The competition is held in three nominations: Vocal piece; Chamber work; Symphonic work.
The competition is attended by composers in three age groups: up to 20 years old inclusive; from 21 to 27 years old inclusive; from 28 to 35 years old inclusive.
The competition is held on October 25-29 in an online format.
The organizer of the competition is the Kazakh National University of Arts with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Artistic director - Rakhat-Bi Abdysagin.
The jury consists of leading contemporary composers, thinkers and creators of the latest music and avant-garde, prominent artists.
