Marijuana was grown in the basement of a private house in the East Kazakhstan region, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to Polisia.kz.
During the operational and preventive measures "Karasora" in October this year, employees of the drug-crime countering department of the region's PD conducted an authorized search in the private house of a 34-year-old resident of the Zharma district.
As a result, a plantation of narcotic plants was found in the basement of the house. The owner of the house cultivated marijuana in special pots, while carefully looking after it. All narcotic plants with a total weight of over half a kilogram were seized, and a corresponding forensic examination was carried out.
Deputy Head of EKR PD Talgat Shayakhmetov noted: “Currently, the suspect is undergoing a pre-trial investigation under Part 1 of Article 300 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Illegal cultivation of prohibited plants containing narcotic substances), the sanction of which provides for imprisonment for up to 2 years.
