140 people died in production since beginning of the year

In Kazakhstan, 140 people died in production in 9 months. This was announced by the chairman of the Labor, Social Protection and Migration Committee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erbol Nurgaliyev, at a briefing in the CCS, reports.

"Thanks to the measures taken to prevent industrial injuries over the past 5 years, the number of injured people decreased by 10.7 percent, including those who died at work - by 16%. As a result of the comprehensive measures taken over the past 5 years (2016-2020 - author's note) the number of injuries at work decreased by 10.7 percent, including the number of deaths - by 16 percent. The rate of accidents per 1,000 workers decreased from 0.32 to 0.23," the speaker said.

According to him, over 9 months of this year, 1,062 people suffered at the enterprises of the country, 140 of them died.

“According to the analysis carried out by the Ministry, most of the accidents this year were due to falls from a height, due to traffic accidents, collapses and collapses of objects and materials. These violations of legislation on safety and labor protection were committed mainly by employers. During 9 months the state labor inspectors revealed more than 8 thousand violations. More than 2,700 orders were issued to employers and more than a thousand fines were imposed in the amount of 189 million tenge," Nurgaliyev concluded.
