Control to protect against omicron-strain of CVI to be strengthened at Kazakhstan border

At a meeting of the Government chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered, reports with reference to the Prime Minister's press service.

First Vice Minister of Health Marat Shoranov reported on the stability of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan. The number of patients receiving inpatient and outpatient treatment has significantly decreased. The workload of infectious beds is 29%, resuscitation - 23%.

The "red zone" in terms of the spread of coronavirus infection includes the North Kazakhstan region, the "yellow zone" - Nur-Sultan, Akmola, Karaganda, Kostanay and Pavlodar regions. The rest of the regions and the Republic of Kazakhstan as a whole are in the "green zone".

To date, about 8.8 million people have been vaccinated with the first component - this is 76.6% of the adult population, over 8 million people or 70.8% of the adult population - with the second component.

Taking into account the appearance abroad of a new strain of the coronavirus "Omicron", the Head of Government ordered to strengthen sanitary and epidemiological control at the state border, keep the situation inside the country under constant control, continue the practice of wearing masks indoors and in transport, and maintaining social distance.

The ministries of health, information and social development, akimats were instructed to strengthen work to increase the rate of vaccination to form the collective immunity of the population.
