Employees of the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan extradited from Germany the citizen of Russia Sergey Valerievich Shubin who was on the international wanted list, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Shubin is suspected of fraudulently seizing the money of an entrepreneur from Akmola region in the amount of 170,000 euros under the guise of supplying German meat processing equipment.
"An agreement with the German side on the extradition of the person involved, in the absence of an agreement between Kazakhstan and Germany on the extradition of wanted persons, was reached by the Prosecutor General's Office on the basis of the principle of reciprocity in international law," the Prosecutor General's Office noted.
Currently, Shubin has been placed in a pre-trial detention center in Nur-Sultan, the press service added.
