The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) will soon launch a program to develop a reusable launch vehicle, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to Tass.ru.

According to the Nikkei business newspaper, about 30 Japanese companies will participate in the development of the launch vehicle, which will reduce the cost of launches by three-quarters.

According to the newspaper, these include, in particular, the largest Japanese company in the field of heavy industry Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and the second largest national air carrier ANA Holdings.

Currently, Japan uses H-2A and Epsilon launch vehicles. JAXA and partners are expected to unveil the first prototype of the new reusable launch vehicle by 2026, and conduct the first test launch by 2030.
