Taliban issue decree on women's rights
The leadership of the Taliban (banned in Kazakhstan) issued a decree concerning the rights of women in Afghanistan. The document was published on Friday by Zabihullah Mujahid, the deputy minister of information and culture in the interim Taliban government, on his Twitter page, Kazpravda.kz reports this with reference to TASS.
As follows from the decree signed by the supreme leader of the Taliban, Haybatullah Akhundzada, a woman cannot be forced into marriage, she cannot be "[the subject of] a truce or an end to hostility" between men.
It also says that in the event of the death of her husband, the widow has the right to inherit part of his property, can independently determine her future fate and, in particular, remarry.
