Tokayev tasked to establish true causes of death of a conscript in Zhambyl region

The President of Kazakhstan instructed to conduct an investigation and establish the true causes of death of a conscript soldier in the Zhambyl region, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the BORT N1 Telegram channel.

“Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expresses deep condolences to his family and friends in connection with the irreparable loss - the death of a soldier Alibek Salamatuly Kalbay in the military unit of the village Gvardeisky, Zhambyl region.

The President considers the death of servicemen in peacetime unacceptable. Parents should not worry about their sons who serve in the army. The state is obliged to bear responsibility for their life and safety,” Akorda said in a statement.

The President instructed the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Defense and other competent authorities to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation and establish the true causes of the incident.

Recall that on April 22, 2022, soldier Kalbay Alibek Salamatuly died in a military hospital in the urban-type settlement of Gvardeisky. The soldier lost consciousness during the morning formation. The soldier was provided with the necessary medical assistance. However, he died without regaining consciousness.

The young man was called up for military service in the spring of 2022 from the Mangistau region. On April 18, he arrived at unit 30212, located in the Korday district of the Zhambyl region. Four days later, his parents were informed of his death.

An investigation has been launched into the death of the soldier.
