Average monthly salary in Kazakhstan became known

According to estimates, the average monthly nominal salary of Kazakhstanis in March amounted to a little more than 275 thousand tenge, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to Kazinform.

“The average monthly nominal salary of one employee, according to an estimate in March 2022, was 275,438 tenge,” the press service of the Bureau of National Statistics reported.

In March last year, it amounted to almost 234 thousand tenge.

The unemployment rate was 4.9%. The number of officially registered unemployed at the end of March was 175,000 people.

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, the average per capita nominal cash income of the population, according to estimates, in February 2022 amounted to 143 thousand tenge, which is 17.3% higher than in February 2021. Real monetary income for the specified period increased by 7.9%.

At the same time, there is an increase in the consumer price index. In March 2022, an increase in prices was noted for sugar by 33.2%, vegetables - by 23.4%, potatoes - by 14.6%, fruits - by 9.3%, butter - by 6.7%, cereals - by 6.3%, pasta, hard cheese - by 5.5%, pasteurized milk, soft drinks - by 5.3%, eggs - by 5.2%, rice - by 4.3%, meat and poultry - by 3%, sausages, confectionery - by 2.7%, sunflower oil - by 2.5%.

The increase in prices for household appliances amounted to 13.5%, detergents and cleaning products - 5%, building materials, personal goods - 3.8% each, cars - 3.2%, pharmaceutical products - 1.7%, clothing and footwear - 1.6%.

Services for the maintenance and repair of residential premises increased by 4.4%, catering - by 3.9%, healthcare - by 3.5%, hairdressers and personal care establishments - by 1.6%. Taxi fares went up by 2%, inter-city buses – by 1.3%.
