The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Bagdat Musin answered the questions of journalists in the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, what is the likelihood of Russia refusing to lease the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazpravda.kz reports.
Bagdat Musin cited the words of the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, from his statement that plans for Baikonur have not changed.
“Yesterday, Mr. Rogozin said that his plans have not changed. They stated that they would work with Kazakhstan and would develop all the planned space programs. We will have negotiations with our Russian colleagues. We have scheduled negotiations with them on a number of issues on April 15-20, including on promising projects for the coming years,” Bagdat Musin explained.
Bagdat Musin also answered the question of how much Russia pays for renting Baikonur.
“More than $100 million a year. The agreement has been ratified until 2050,” said Bagdat Musin.
