Gulmira Satybaldy is suspected of embezzling 747 million tenge, Kazpravda.kz reports citing the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"The Anti-Corruption Service of Shymkent is conducting a pre-trial investigation against officials of the State Institution "Department of Passenger Transport and Highways of Shymkent" and the leadership of "Aria-Zhana Astana" LLP, including Gulmira Satybaldy, on the fact of embezzlement in 2021 of budget funds in a particularly large amount (747 million tenge) paid for actually not completed construction and installation works," the report says.
It is noted that other information in the interests of the investigation is not subject to disclosure.
Recall that in mid-March it became known that Gulmira's ex-husband Kairat Satybaldy was arrested for embezzlement from the budget on an especially large scale.
It should be noted that earlier it was reported that Kairat Satybaldy is the founder of the offshore company Skyline Investment Company S.A., which owns more than 24% of the shares of Kazakhtelecom.
He worked as deputy akim of Astana (1998-2000); Vice-President of National Company Kazakh Oil CJSC (2000-2003); First Vice-President of National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC (2005-2006); Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dunye Corporation JSC (2006-2010); Secretary of the Nur Otan Party (05.2010-12.2015); Managing Partner of Alatau Capital Invest (since 2016).
Also held positions: President of the ALE "Association of National Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan"; President of the International Federation "Kok-Boru"; Chairman of the NGO "Republican Movement "Ak Orda"; shareholder of the holding JSC "Kaspi".
