How Kazakhstanis evaluate activities of President Tokayev - results of a sociological survey

In March this year, the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted a sociological study to analyze the public mood of Kazakhstanis, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the CCS website.

According to the results of the survey, it turned out that more than 70% of respondents have a positive attitude towards the activities of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

According to the majority of respondents (42.1%), the President first of all needs to pay attention to ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens, which was probably caused by the recent January events in our country. At the same time, a slightly smaller number of our compatriots (41.4%) are concerned about raising the level of wages, pensions and benefits.

35.3% of respondents are in favor of ensuring the safety of citizens. 32.5% are concerned about strengthening international relations. Slightly more than a quarter of respondents (26.3%) want the President to pay more attention to the fight against corruption.

More than half of the survey participants (56.7%) believe that the President's activities should be based on security issues, social justice (35.9%), stable economic development, the well-being of every family, friendship and harmony in society (26-28%).

Most of the respondents (71.3%) are optimistic and believe in changes for the better in the next two years.

At the same time, more than half of the respondents (51%) associate their hopes for improving life in Kazakhstan directly with the President. 20.5% of respondents place their hopes on the Government, even less – 15% – on local executive bodies, 14.1% – on the Parliament (Senate, Majilis).

When choosing the most important value for them, the majority of respondents put safety first (60.2%). For 34.3% of survey participants, this is independence. Slightly more than a quarter of respondents (27.2%) consider government assistance to be the most valuable. 23.1% voted for justice, 22.5% for freedom, and 19.6% for order.

The sociological survey was conducted from 15 to 24 March 2022, involving 1,863 respondents, the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan aged 18 to 50 years, Internet users. Survey points are the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, 14 regions of the country.
