Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov considers it possible to return to the plan for oil production of 87.5 million tons this year in case of a quick repair at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. He stated this while answering the questions of the deputies during the plenary session of the Majilis, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
As Majilis deputy Daniyar Alimbayev recalled, in the submitted documents, the forecast for oil production in 2022 is reduced by 2 million tons, which will lead to a shortfall of about 80 billion tenge to the republican budget. At the same time, the risks associated with a decrease in oil exports through the CPC remain.
According to Bolat Akchulakov, there is indeed a possibility that repairs at the CPC will be delayed, and therefore the oil production plan for 2022 has been revised from 87.5 to almost 86 million tons.
“We will fulfill this plan,” Akchulakov said.
However, he stressed, Kazakhstan today makes the most of its alternative routes.
“If the situation on the CPC oil pipeline is resolved as soon as possible, we may even come close to the original plans - 87.5 million tons. We have such expectations,” the minister said.
