Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the event on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the State Security Service, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The President got acquainted with the activities of the State Security Service. Then Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the solemn event and congratulated the employees of the SSS on their anniversary.
The head of state noted the important role of this structure in the national security system and the special responsibility assigned to the personnel of the SSS.
“Ensuring the security of the country's leadership, the protection of strategic facilities, as well as high-ranking foreign guests is a very serious task that you are worthy of fulfilling. Of course, this indicates that good traditions and continuity have developed over the past 30 years. And today the potential of the Service is huge, there are great technical and operational capabilities. We can say with confidence that the State Security Service is a team of true patriots. In the most difficult and crucial moments, you wholeheartedly serve the Motherland,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
The President separately talked on the great potential of the SSS in countering various challenges and threats in the current geopolitical situation.
“It is necessary to further develop the knowledge and skills of personnel and improve the entire system of state security. The State Security Service is a special structure. Therefore, high demands are always placed on it. I am confident that you will efficiently and promptly perform all the tasks assigned to you. Thank you for your impeccable service,” the Head of State stressed.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished success to the personnel of the Service. A number of employees were awarded state awards, in particular, the Aibyn Orders of the 1st and 2nd degrees, the Zhauyngerlik Erligi Ushin medal, and the President's Gratitude.
At the end of the awards ceremony, the Head of State watched a festive concert.
