Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serikkali Brekeshev commented on the fate of waste incineration plants, the construction of which was planned in Kazakhstan, Kazpravda.kz reports.
Recall that officials of the Ministry of Ecology and management of Operator ROP LLP intended to steal 180 billion tenge collected in the form of recycling fees by illegally financing a private organization for construction of 6 waste incineration plants that generate electricity.
“Now there are investigations. We do not know the details of these investigative measures, because the investigation is still ongoing,” Serikkali Brekeshev commented on the high-profile case.
To date, he added, work is underway with the contractor who won the tender for the construction of waste incineration plants.
“At least there is official correspondence; this contractor does not intend to continue to implement this project. Now, in general, the fate of this project will be reviewed. As for whether they wanted to steal or withdraw these funds, this will probably already be known from the results of investigative measures,” the Minister of Ecology concluded.
