Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev, answering journalists' questions in the Senate, commented on the detention of a suspect in preparation for an assassination attempt on the country's leadership, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.

In particular, the journalists asked the speaker of the Senate to explain how likely it is that the suspect could be a journalist, about which there is information in open sources.

“I also know that there was such information, it was published in Telegram channels, I tell you honestly, the NSC did not confirm this information to us. We need to understand who he is, we have not yet received official information,” he said.

Maulen Ashimbaev stressed that it is necessary to wait for official information.

“Nobody has given official information yet. Therefore, if information about this person officially appears, only then will we be able to understand how it happened, why it happened. Then I will be able to answer this question,” concluded the Senate Speaker.
