Suspect in "mining" large objects in Nur-Sultan and Almaty detained

A man who announced the allegedly laid explosive devices in Nur-Sultan and Almaty is detained, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Antiterrorist Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Recall, on March 31, 2022 in Nur-Sultan and Almaty, a number of objects received false reports of the laid bombs.

"A citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan "T" born in 1986, a resident of Zhitikara, working as an IT specialist in one of the organizations of the town, is detained during operational search activities by law enforcement officers. Using his knowledge in the IT-sphere and various technical means, the man sent newsletters to 11 large objects of the capital and Almaty," the report says.

The suspect admitted that he had committed the crime from hooligan motivations. He is taken into custody.

Now the man will have to be responsible in accordance with the criminal article "Intentional false report on the act of terrorism", which is punished with a fine in the amount of up to five thousand monthly calculated indexes or correctional work in the same amount or the restriction of freedom for up to five years, or imprisonment for up to five years.
