Dangerous diseases brought into country along with imported breeding stock - Majilisman

Majilis deputy Yerlan Barlybayev during the government hour in the Majilis stated that dangerous diseases were brought into the country along with imported breeding stock, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.

“It is worth noting that the implementation of programs for importation of breeding stock also brought us many problems. Diseases such as infectious rhinotracheitis, bluetongue, lumpy skin disease, Schmalenberg's disease and viral diarrhea were brought into the country,” he said.

The deputy cited the data, according to which outbreaks of rabies and brucellosis are observed everywhere in the country, there is no positive dynamics in the fight against these diseases.

“For example, the number of cases of brucellosis in 2020-2021 increased by 2%. In addition, diseases such as anthrax in farm animals increased 6 times, leptospirosis - 5 times, anaerobic enterotoxemia - 5 times, viral diarrhea and infectious rhinotrachitis - by 113%," Yerlan Barlybayev said.
