Dead flamingos found in Mangistau

The death of flamingos was recorded in the Mangistau region, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“On April 24, information was received about the death of 5 flamingos in the territory of the Beineu district of the Mangistau region.

Representatives of law enforcement agencies, the territorial inspection of forestry and wildlife of the state enterprise "PA" Okhotzooprom ", the Samsky forest institution of the akimat of the Beineu district left for the place," the Ministry of Ecology reported.

According to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 31, 2006, flamingos are included in the list of rare and endangered animal species.

For illegal hunting of flamingos, Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides for imprisonment of up to seven years, with confiscation of property, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to seven years. It also provides for compensation for damage in the amount of 400 MCI, recalled in the department.
