In Pavlodar region, the deputy head of the regional police department was detained on suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirms that within the framework of the signed memorandum of mutual cooperation in combating corruption in its own ranks, together with the Anti-Corruption Service, the deputy head of the regional police department was detained on suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
A joint investigative-operational group has been created. A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Art. 189 part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Other information in the interests of the investigation is not disclosed, the Interior Ministry added.
