The plans of the Russian company Ural Motorcycles to transfer the production of motorcycles to Kazakhstan were commented by the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairbek Uskenbayev on the sidelines of the Government, Kazpravda.kz reports.
The journalists asked the minister if Petropavlovsk was ready to accept the offer of Ural Motorcycles, which plans to move motorcycle production to Kazakhstan.
According to Kairbek Uskenbayev, the Kazakh authorities welcome all enterprises that are ready to open production in Kazakhstan, including those from Russia.
"Every day we have a growing pool of projects, including from other states, including from Russia. We welcome all enterprises that are ready to open here, because these are jobs, this is a taxable base, this is a competence, therefore the Ural plant is negotiating with Kaztekhmash, and even they have already, in my opinion, concluded a lease agreement for the area. We will welcome it... This is one of the plants that are being opened here. I said, if this plant is legal, if it is not burdened with any restrictions, we will welcome any plant here on our territory," the minister said.
He also noted that many Russian companies want to come to our market.
“I didn’t count, but I say that it’s a lot. We have now collected the entire list in electronic format. To be honest, we don’t divide between Kazakhstani or joint ventures. We form this pool based on what is necessary for our economy. Therefore on import substitution, we welcome all enterprises from any country, if they are ready to open production here," Kairbek Uskenbayev emphasized.
The minister also commented on the risk of the impact of anti-Russian sanctions if enterprises from Russia begin to transfer production to Kazakhstan.
“You know, non-Russian companies will open here. And the Ural plant, firstly, is not under sanctions. Not all Russian companies are under sanctions. This list is determined by the western countries. As far as I know this plant is not included in the list. If for some reason it decides to change the location and open an enterprise on the territory of Kazakhstan, why should we deny this? MIID firmly adheres to the principles defined by our state, so those enterprises that should not be here will not be here. Those enterprises that have the right to be here will be here", Uskenbayev concluded.
