NSC detains suspects of spying against Kazakhstan

The National Security Committee reported on the arrest of a number of espionage suspects, Kazpravda.kz reports.

"The National Security Committee on suspicion of espionage, high treason, illegal collection and disclosure of state secrets detained a group of people, including a citizen of a foreign state," the information says.

Criminal cases were initiated under part 1 of article 175 (high treason), article 176 (espionage) and part 3 of article 185 (illegal collection and disclosure of state secrets) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The investigating court in relation to this group of persons chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention.

Criminal cases are "Classified", in connection with which, other information in the interests of the investigation is not disclosed, the press service of the NSC added.
