During his visit to the Atyrau region, the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development got acquainted with the reconstruction of the Atyrau-Astrakhan highway. Kairbek Uskenbayev checked the work at several sites, including near the village Kurmangazy (682-845 km), and also met with residents of the Isatai and Kurmangazy districts, Kazpravda.kz reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the working trip, the minister stressed that the country's leadership keeps the implementation of this project under special control. In this regard, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development has taken a specific decision.
“We will without fail come to Atyrau region once a month and a half to check the quality and timing of the work. Moreover, it was decided that the deputy heads of the Committee for Roads, the national company "KazAvtoZhol" and the National Center for the Quality of Road Assets will be here permanently, until the completion of the road reconstruction. They were told to transfer other cases to their colleagues and to deal only with the Atyrau-Astrakhan project all the time,” Kairbek Uskenbaev said.
The project "Atyrau - Astrakhan" is divided into 6 parts. The section at km 833-853 was commissioned in 2020. By the end of this year, it is planned to open traffic along the entire length of the road.
“Completion of the reconstruction of the Atyrau-Astrakhan road is one of the urgent issues on the agenda. Now one of my deputies will oversee the timely completion of construction work and report daily. It is also necessary to strengthen public control,” Serik Shapkenov, akim of the Atyrau region, assured.
By the way, today contractors are procuring road building materials and starting construction and installation work. All work on the corridor "Aktobe - Atyrau - border of the Russian Federation (to Astrakhan)" is planned to be completed in 2023.
