Media representatives asked why bloggers and viners Meirzhan Turebaev and Meirkhan Sherniyazov were not detained in the Mudarabah Capital case.
According to Sanjar Adilov, the so-called bloggers are ordinary people who, along with other citizens, have rights and obligations.
“There is no difference for criminal prosecution bodies by status or place of work. I would like to say that three so-called viners are being prosecuted. In relation to two, at the request of the prosecutor, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of bail, and one of the suspects fled from the investigating authorities during the pre-trial investigation. With the sanction of the court, he was arrested in absentia, put on the international wanted list, measures are being taken to establish his whereabouts and detention.
In this case, I would like to say that at present the authorities have obtained a sufficient body of evidence confirming the suspicions. Currently, the case materials are ready for completion,” the speaker said.
At the same time, he noted that the tasks of the criminal process are not only the quick and complete exposure of the guilty person, bringing to justice, but also the restoration of the violated rights and freedoms of our citizens.
“As part of the investigation of the Mudarabah Capital case, a set of investigative measures was taken to collect all the information and take measures to seize the property, which can later be used to compensate the victims by a court decision. In this case, I want to report that in order to compensate for material damage to the victims, the investigators seized property located in the cities of Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Almaty region. With the sanction of the court, these are 4 land plots, 10 apartments, 5 houses, 2 cars, 1 store. We also seized money. Today, the appraisal of the seized property is being carried out,” the speaker concluded.
