Undergraduate with 2.5 years of training starts from the new academic year – RK MES

The Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov voiced the advantages of undergraduate with a learning period of 2.5 years, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.

"This project is very important. A lot of employers just say that we are training students for a very long time - 4 years. In the pilot mode, we want to start training of applied bachelors. On the 11th-class base, they will go to the university or on the college base they will be trained for a certain time, but the term of study will be much shorter than learning in the usual undergraduate," said the minister.

Such a format, according to him, will allow in a short time to provide the labor market with the necessary personnel.

"The pilot starts this year since the beginning of the new academic year. We have a pilot project in a number of universities. Now we think it will be in the capital and Almaty," said Aimagambetov.

Meanwhile, the minister stressed, if a student completed such bachelor's degree, and has a desire to continue to learn and get a complete bachelor's degree, then he will have such an opportunity - he can return to the university and receive the desired bachelor's degree.
